Grace Okereke Announced as Jury Member for Perform Europe

We are pleased to announce that Uprise Rebel Founder, Grace Okereke, has been announced as a member of the jury for Perform Europe, a highly-anticipated project which will support experiments to make international touring of the performing arts more sustainable, inclusive and balanced. The aim is to collectively test and design a future European support scheme for cross-border touring and digital distribution of the performing arts.

Over 18 months, Perform Europe will explore and test sustainable touring practices – on artistic, human, social, economic and ecological levels. It will also promote the digital world as an exciting domain for experimentation in the performing arts.

It seeks to reach out to diverse groups of performing arts professionals and audiences, who usually do not take part in or benefit from international touring of the performing arts, and will strive to achieve a balanced representation of various players.

The first step of Perform Europe’s application process has now been announced. In this first step, all interested producers (artists, collectives, companies and presenters that have produced an artistic work) and presenters (festivals, venues, and other organisations offering a presenting context) are invited to apply to be part of Perform Europe’s process of collective learning and networking organised by Perform Europe and supported by its digital platform.

The application for this first step will be open from 15 June to 7 July 2021 on the Perform Europe digital platform. Click here to read about the call guidelines and application criteria.
