Black People in Dance in the UK receive Arts Council Grant

As part of Uprise Rebel’s work in audience development, we have partnered with Black People in Dance in the UK, a new initiative founded to strengthen the voice of black people in dance by creating a Task Force and alliance network. We are thrilled to announce that BDPUK were recently awarded an Arts Council England grant to do a scoping exercise that explores the development of a leadership framework that would support black creatives working in the UK Dance sector. The long term goal is for BPDUK to be able to create a bespoke leadership programme to support the progression and succession of black creatives to reach high level positions and/or visible positions of leadership within the dance sector. This project is the first stepping-stone in the journey and is designed to identify the needs of the sector.

More information about BDPUK and our work with them to follow in the coming months.
