The Rite of Spring builds a bridge between Indian dance Bharatanatyam and Western classical music. In the show, signed by the Anglo-Indian artist Seeta Patel, Stravinsky's iconic score and the intricate, geometric movements of Bharatanatyam create a dialogue between East and West, in which the prejudices that distance the two worlds are canceled out, and the birth of an understanding that goes far beyond art itself.
